The Kuwaiti Joint Relief Committee (KJRC) on Thursday started the second phase of distributing USD 385,000-worth of relief aid to Syrian refugees in different parts of Jordan.
The first phase was completed in August through cooperation with a number of Kuwaiti charities under wise leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, said Head of KJRC delegation Tamer Al-Saheeb.
As a part of this phase, food packages will be distributed to 9,200 Syrian families across Jordan, he added.
Al-Saheeb praised Kuwait and its people for helping alleviate the suffering of Syrian people, as well as backing the host country Jordan which opened its doors wide to Syrian refugees.
For their part, Jordanian officials lauded Kuwait's important humanitarian role in the world.
The KJRC consists of institutions and Islamic organizations headed by Advisor of Diwan Al-Amiri, UN Secretary General's Envoy for Humanitarian Affairs and Board Chairman of the International Islamic Chartable Organization Abdullah Al-Maatouq.
