Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) will carry out a host of relief and development projects for Syrian refuges in Jordan, in cooperation with the Kuwaiti embassy in the Kingdom.
These projects are extension of the humanitarian program the KRCS is implementing there at the behest of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, KRCS Deputy Chairman Anwar Al-Hassawi said in a press statement on Tuesday.
The program is followed up by KRCS, the embassy and the Jordan National Red Crescent Society (IFRC).
The KRCS will build 30 bakeries, provide winter clothes, open a dentistry clinic and distribute food baskets in cooperation with IFRC, Al-Hassawia added.
He noted that the KRCS will dispatch next week seven trucks carrying foodstuff, clothes and wheelchairs for people with special needs.
The KRCS has drawn up a work plan that will see relief convoys reaching to areas where Syrian refugees are sheltered, either in Amman or outside the capital, he said.
Immediately after the crisis erupted and Syrians flocked to neighboring countries, the KRCS embarked on programs to provide their needs, especially in Jordan and Lebanon, where most refugees have found shelter, Al-Hassawi said.
