The Kuwait Red Crescent Society has continued distribution of humanitarian and relief aid to Syrian refugees in Lebanon.
"The KRCS distributed blankets, foodstuff and children toys to 500 Syrian families in Zahle town, in the eastern city of Beqaa," KRCS Board Member Fawziya Al-Nasser told KUNA Friday Al-Nasser added that the KRCS is keen on providing Syrian refugees with their humanitarian needs especially with the approach of winter.
For his part, Head of the disasters department at the Lebanese Red Cross Society Joseph Daoud lauded the humanitarian aid and efforts the KRCS to alleviate the suffering of conflict-traumatized Syrian refugees.
He noted that there are 156 camps for Syrian refugees in Zahle and its surrounding area.
Meanwhile, Syrian refugees expressed gratitude for the Kuwaiti leadership and people non-stop support to them in their distress.
The Kuwait-provided aid supplies have reached tens of thousands of Syrian refugees in various Lebanese regions and the relief operations have been carried out in coordination with the Lebanese Red Cross and the Kuwaiti Embassy.
Kuwait has been in lead among nations offering aid and humanitarian supplies to over one million Syrian refugees in Lebanon.
