Volunteers of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRSC) distributed on Saturday food parcels and blankets to about 800 Syrian refugee families living in the Jordanian southern governorate of Karak in the framework of a Kuwaiti humanitarian campaign that covers all Syrians refugees inside the country.
In a statement to KUNA, Jassem Qamber, the KRCS delegation's head, said the aid is part of the campaign that includes displaced Syrians in all governorates of the country.
"The campaign aims at distributing foodstuffs and blankets to Syrian families to help them overcome severe weather conditions the region is witnessing," he said.
Since the outbreak of the Syrian crisis, the KRCS has been distributing foodstuffs, garments, medicine and bread to the Syrian refugees to alleviate their sufferings, he said.
Supporting the Syrian refugees comes in implementation of directions of His Highness the Amir Sheikh SabahAl-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in this regard, he said, noting there is cooperation between the KRCS and its counterpart of Jordan to target all refugees across the country.
He referred to the efforts of the Kuwaiti volunteers who extend their hands to needy people, underlining the significance of such campaigns to help the society be acquainted with the disaster the Syrian refugees are facing.
