The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) continued here on Monday its relief campaign to distribute relief aid to Syrian families that have taken up refuge in the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli.
Head of the field team Abdulrahman Al-Saleh said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that some 2,000 Syrian families received today food supplies, blankets and winter clothing.
Al-Saleh added that this campaign was an extension of the relief aid campaign launched by the KRCS, referring that the KCRS was keen to distribute such relief aid in this period especially as the severe winter is approaching where the displaced people are always having difficulty in this season.
For her part, member of the Social Committee in the KRCS Zahra Al-Shatti expressed hope these supplies would help alleviate some of the suffering of the refugees during the upcoming harsh winter conditions.
She added that some food parcels were distributed to some 500 Syrian families, in addition to blankets and bread.
