Al-Hazmiah-Sofar road project funded by Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) will help in facilitating traffic flow and tourists\' movement from Beirut to Mount Lebanon. During a tour of the project site, KFAED\'s Director General Abdulwahab Al-Bader told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that this project will meet the demand for domestic and international transport of passengers and goods between the cities of Beirut and the Bekaa, as well as neighboring Arab countries, which will lead to a reduction in vehicle operating costs and save time. KFAED, he stressed, supports development projects in Lebanon because of its positive effects in serving the Lebanese economy. The US$146 million project aims at renovating two lanes and constructing sidewalks stretching 24 kilometers. At least 11 intersections and several causeways will be also built.
