Jordan took part in the first ministerial meeting of a project to enhance food security in the Arab countries, which recently concluded at the headquarters of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development in the State of Kuwait.
Minister of Agriculture Akef Zu'bi, who participated in this meeting, said that during the meeting the conferees discussed the project's results as well as the proposed plan for the second phase. The project aims to increase production of wheat crop by raising the wheat yield by deploying modern techniques in agriculture and applying the results of agricultural research.
It also works on bridging the gap between production and consumption, in addition to the training of farmers, researchers and extension agents in this area on modern agricultural methods.
