Jordan’s Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour highlighted his country’s support of Iraq and its people and said Jordan maintains distinguished ties with its neighboring country at all levels. At a meeting with Iraqi businessmen and officials taking part in the Basra Investment Forum “Basra-Aqaba strategic oil pipeline” currently being held in Amman, Ensour welcomed Iraq’s intent to export its oil through the Aqaba Port, Jordan’s Petra news agency reported. He said the construction of an oil pipeline from Basra to Aqaba will benefit both countries as it gives Iraq a gateway to export its oil and provides Jordan with its needs of oil. Ensour also discussed with the Iraqi businessmen and officials cooperation in the fields of gas and railway link between the two countries. The Iraqi delegation voiced keenness to boost trade and investment cooperation between the two countries, stressing the importance of the forum in highlighting investment opportunities in both countries. They said the Basra-Aqaba oil pipeline will create thousands of job opportunities in both countries.
