The overall quantity of Industrial Production Index (IPI) in the Palestinian Territory increased by 7.64% in May compared to the previous month, a press release by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said Thursday. The increase in IPI in May can be traced back to changes in main industrial activities, including an increase in the manufacturing industry by 15.03% compared to the previous month with a share of 80.56% from the total industry. Mining and quarrying industry decreased by 31.04% during May compared to the previous month, forming a share of 4.59% of the total industry, while water supply and electricity industry decreased by 7.02% in the same period with a share of 14.85% of the total industry, added PCBS press release.
