Al Hussein Technical University (HTU), Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Armed Forces Communications & Electronics Association (AFCEA) to establish a partnership in technological and educational development.

The MoU was signed during the official inauguration ceremony of the AFCEA, Jordan Chapter, at the King Hussein Business Park (KHBP), under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein; Honorary Chairman of the AFCEA – Jordan Chapter.

The MoU set a framework for a strong academic and technical cooperation between HTU and AFCEA – Jordan Chapter in areas of technology, communication, electronics and cyber security. It will also utilize AFCEA’s extensive network of like-minded professionals to address the latest developments and issues in the defense, security and intelligence communities.

This agreement will also set roles for both parties to design, produce and implement professional courses taught by recognized experts in areas of modern C4ISR.

“AFCEA – Jordan Chapter will be an advocate in STEM education and practices, and will also facilitate students exchange opportunities and academic support “, said President of Al Hussein Technical University,Dr. Labib Khadra.

“We are very proud that Al Hussein Technical University is at the forefront of adopting the latest technology in electronics and cyber security, this will bring about a substantial change in HTU’s technological education”, Khadra added.

President of the AFCEA – Jordan Chapter, Rula Ammouri, emphasized that this cooperation is a strategic step that would provide a practical model of partnership between HTU and the AFCEA.

Al Hussein Technical University (HTU), was founded by the Crown Prince Foundation (CPF), with the aim to support Jordanian youth’s pursuit of vocational, technical and applied education. HTU is set to open its doors for registration at the beginning of October this year.

The AFCEA International, established in 1946, is a non-profit membership association dedicated to advancing professional knowledge in the fields of IT, communications, and electronics within defense, security and intelligence communities.
