The Vice President of the Republic, Hassabo Mohamed Abdul-Rahman, has lauded the oustanding efforts of Gedarif state and farmers for contributing ito the macro economy and providing the food security as well as he appreciated the great role being played by the Agricultural Bank in the state in financing farmers.
In a joint meeting he held Wednesday in conclusion of his visit to Gedarif state with the General union of Farmers in Gedarif state and in presence of the Wali(Governor) of Gedarif state, members of the economic sector and the state’ government, Hasabo directed to set a matrix represents the state’s vision of the agriculture problems and solutions and to convened a joint meeting with the economic sector in Khartoum within the next two weeks. He also directed to the necessity to open the financial credits to import sesame harvesters and to ratify on establishing the agricultural and dirt roads, declaring his support of 10 million pounds for preparation of the roads and bridges in the state and to open more branches of the Agriculture Bank at headquarters of localities, affirming the state determination to solve all the agriculture problems in the Gedarif state.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the General Union of the Farmers in Gedarif state reviewed the progress of the agricultural season and the rains rate that contributed in increasing the cultivating lands and the large finance size that farmers benefited of it, adding that the Vice President ‘s visit in this time and to stand on the agricultural season, afirming the government’s seriousness of the agricultural sector, calling the Plant Protection Authority to carry out early preparation to confront appearance of pests during this season.
