Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, the Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab states of the gulf (GCC) member states, met here on Wednesday with Hartfg Scheffer, the Regional Director of the World Bank, and his accompanying delegation , now visiting here. During the meeting, they discussed aspects of cooperation between the GCC countries and the World Bank, particularly the efforts exerted by the two sides of supporting development in Yemen. In this regard they discussed the executive organ to accelerate the absorption of donor pledges, which was founded as per a decision issued by Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi this month of February. Zayani welcomed the establishment of this device, urging the World Bank to continue to support it in view of the vital role it plays for increasing the flow of assistance to Yemen.
