Tech enthusiasts in Dubai gathered on Wednesday at the Dubai World Trade Centre as Gitex Shopper Spring 2015 kicked off.
The four-day consumer electronics event featured 30,000 products, including TVs, smartphones and tablets, from 100 consumer IT and electronics brands.
Some retailers offered shoppers promotions and discounts on a range of items. Participating in the event are brands like Hisense, Lenovo and Obi, and retailers, such as Axiom, E-City, Emax, Jacky's, Jumbo, Plug-Ins and Sharaf DG.
Retailers said that the event helps boosts their annual sales. The event generated sales of more than Dh101 million in the previous year, compared to Dh93 million in 2013.
The show was opened by Sami Al Qamzi, director general of the Dubai Department of Economic Development.
Tickets to the event costs Dh20 per person.
