Former UN chief Boutros Ghali asserted that the new Suez Canal project would represent a new passage for the Egyptian people towards development and progress and pose a new challenge to the Egyptians to set free their own will.
In statements to MENA, Ghali said this national project is a new message that will reflect how far the Egyptians are closely linked with their land and their 145-year-old historic Canal which had been dug by their grandfathers.
He called on all Egyptians to back the State in order to achieve the objectives called for by the Egyptians in their revolutions
