The workers committee for the defense of Gaza employees decided to shorten working hours at ministries and governmental institutions in protest against the Palestinian government's "neglect" of employees' rights to receive their salaries on due times.
In a statement released on Monday, the committee said the working hours will end on at 13.00 hours on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week.
The committee announced its rejection of the approach taken by the Palestinian national consensus government and its disregard of any former agreements reached in this respect.
The Palestinian Authority is obliged to pay salaries of 70,000 employees in Gaza who obeyed the Hamas movement orders to abstain from work after the military movement took control of Gaza Strip in 2007.
