Fujairah City Centre — the largest retail, leisure and entertainment destination in the emirate — opened its doors on Wednesday with more than 100 stores ready for shoppers from day one. With an estimated value of Dh400 million, the mall is developed by Majid Al Futtaim Properties in partnership with the government-owned Fujairah Investment Establishment. With 34,000sqm of retail space, the mall features 105 value and mid-market brands, 85 per cent of which are new to Fujairah. It offers choice, convenience and value for money across a wide range of categories including local and international fashion, lifestyle, electronics, homewares and food and beverage. The mall features a 8,684 Carrefour hypermarket, the largest in the emirate. Thousands of shoppers are expected to visit the mall in its first week of opening to experience amazing performances, fireworks, and other exciting family entertainment activities, while enjoying special in-store offers. Fujairah City Centre is the sixth strategic shopping mall in the UAE for Majid Al Futtaim Properties and the company’s 11th mall in the region. “For more than two decades, Majid Al Futtaim Properties has delivered world-class shopping and tourist destinations to the Middle East, pioneering the concept of pairing premium retail brands with compelling leisure attractions,” chief executive officer Peter Walichnowski said. Fujairah City Centre embodies this vision and reflects the customer-centric approach and design excellence of the ‘City Centre’ brand, Walichnowski added. Integrating the concept of retail and leisure, the Centre features a Magic Planet family entertainment centre and later this year, an 11–screen, state-of-the-art VOX Cinemas multiplex. “Fujairah City Centre’s offer of unique brands and premium leisure experiences is unmatched by any other mall in the emirate. In addition to being a new landmark and community hub, the mall will foster economic growth and create long-term sustainability for the wider East Coast through job creation, and commercial and tourism opportunities,” Majed Al Fahim, Senior Manager for Fujairah City Centre, said. The mall is strategically located at the intersection of the new Fujairah-Dubai highway and the existing Masafi Highway at the entrance to Fujairah city, servicing the East Coast and greater Northern Emirates with its premium offer of retail, leisure and entertainment. Landmark’s nine outlets Landmark Group, the region’s leading retail and hospitality conglomerate, opened nine stores across a total of 79,523sqft of leased space at the Fujairah City Centre as part of its strategic plan to expand its retail footprint. Landmark Group’s brands such as Centrepoint (Babyshop, Splash, Shoe Mart, Lifestyle and Beautybay) Max, Emax, New Look, Koton, Carpisa, Steve Madden, and Candelite cover close to 22 per cent of the retail destination’s total gross leasable area. Vipen Sethi, chief executive officer, Landmark Group, said: “The Landmark Group and Majid Al Futtaim share a long-standing and fruitful relationship that dates back to many years and expands across the UAE and wider GCC region. We are excited to open some of our key retail stores at the Fujairah City Centre. Our brands will contribute to 22 per cent of the mall area, strengthening our portfolio of outlets in the emirate. ”
