The executive meeting of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), chaired by the State of Qatar, concluded here today.
Qatar's delegation to the meeting was led by HE Director of the International Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tariq bin Ali Faraj Al Ansari.
The two-day meeting resulted in the adoption of the ESCWA work program for the period 2018-2019 and a number of important recommendations to the Presidency, Qatar and the Executive Secretariat.
The meeting was preceded by the Arab Forum for Sustainable Development in Rabat from 3 to 5 May, where Qatar's delegation was also headed by HE Tariq bin Ali Faraj Al Ansari.
The delegation included representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics, and the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs.
The Director of the Department of International Cooperation gave a presentation on the activities of international cooperation in relation to achieving the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the State's efforts in activating the international partnership for development. The representative of the Development Planning and Statistics presented a review on the implementation of the sustainable development agenda in the State of Qatar.
