Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab met with members of the executive office of a charity organization seeking to develop impoverished villages across Egypt.
Mahlab's meeting with the members of "Listen to us … there is a hope" foundation came as part of the government's keenness to support civil society initiatives which can contribute to the societal development.
During the meeting, the members noted that the foundation has a goal to develop 50 villages in a number of governorates, particularly in Upper Egypt, through coordination with businessmen and bodies concerned.
They said that the renovation of 15 poor villages will be finalized in March.
Also, 100 dilapidated houses will be rebuilt and utilities will be delivered to them, they said.
