Egyptian Ambassador in Tokyo Ismail Khairat held several meetings over the past few days with senior Japanese officials at the Foreign Ministry and the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The meetings were meant to underline the importance of starting the first phase of the fourth Underground metro line in Egypt as soon as possible to meet the daily needs of citizens in the districts of Haram, Faysal, Omraniya and Giza.
Khairat, in a released statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, indicated that the Japanese side has asserted its commitment to financing the project under a soft loan agreement between the two countries.
