Agriculture Minister Essam Fayed said the 2030 Egyptian agro-development strategy aims at realizing the optimal use of available natural resources to up agricultural growth rate to 4 percent annually.
Addressing a conference of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Fayed said the strategy also aims at realizing self sufficiency and food security in addition to creating jobs.
Fayed added that Egypt-IFAD cooperation is based on combating poverty and realizing sustainable development.
He added that Egypt took big strides at the political, social and security levels to realize full political stability and the aspired economic liberalization.
