Egypt's Minister of Industry, Trade and Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises Mounir Fakhri Abdel Nour said Tuesday Egypt and Kazakhstan agreed to open new horizons in trade and economic relations through expanding of the volume of trade exchange.
Egypt and Kazakhstan agreed to facilitate products' entry to the two countries and neighboring countries' markets without obstacles, Abdel Nour added.
The minister called for establishing direct and regular transport lines between the two countries and re-running the Cairo - Astana direct airline.
Abdel Nour, who is currently visiting Astana, met Tuesday with Kazakhstan's First Deputy Prime Minister Pachtjan Sagntev.
They discussed the recent developments regarding a projected free trade agreement between Egypt and the Eurasian Economic Union, which includes Russia and Belarus in addition to Kazakhstan.
The meeting reviewed the possibility of re-exporting Kazakh wheat to Egypt.
Abdel Nour invited Kazakh companies to come and invest in Egypt and take part in major national projects currently being implemented by the country, especially the Suez Canal development project, the golden triangle project as well as ventures in the petrochemical production and tourism fields.
