Egypt imported thousands of live cattle to fulfill the needs of Eidul Adha, said Minister of Industry and Trade Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour in a statement on Friday.
The ministry imported 51,314 cows and 3,700 camels during August, Abdel Nour said.
Commenting on trade movement between Egypt and Sudan, Abdel Nour said that the movement of exports and imports run smoothly between both countries after the opening of the Egypt-Sudan Ashkit-Qastal border crossing.
The crossing is an important terminal for Egyptian exports to the Sudanese and African markets, he said.
The volume of trade has been increased following the inauguration of the terminal, he added.
