As part of its efforts to promote Dubai’s competitive business environment, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s representative office in Azerbaijan recently participated in the 6th INNOPROM 2015 exhibition held in Ekaterinburg which was attended by over 52,000 visitors and 600 participating companies from more than 95 countries of the world.
Dubai Chamber’s attractive stand manned by officials of its Azerbaijan office held 30 meetings with representatives of international companies, decision-makers and government and chamber officials mainly from over 50 regions of Russia during the annual industrial exhibition organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and Sverdlovsk Regional Government under the chairmanship of H.E. Dennis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade, Russian Federation.
Since its inception in 2010, INNOPROM, which is Russia’s main industrial trade fair, is held annually in Ekaterinburg, with the aim to present advanced Russian industrial technologies, to facilitate best innovation practices, and to develop business connections between industrial enterprises and technology developers.
With five specialised simultaneous exhibitions on mechanical engineering, industrial automation, energy efficiency, optics and lasers, and metropolitan techniques, as well as other events including panel discussions, training seminars and roundtables, the exhibition provided a fitting platform to discuss business opportunities in the CIS region.
Omar Khan, Director, International Offices, Dubai Chamber, stated that the Chamber’s participation in the exhibition provided an ideal venue to showcase the competitiveness of Dubai businesses as well as the emirate’s lucrative investment environment while opening up doors for new business opportunities for global investors especially those from the CIS member countries.
He further stated that the Dubai Chamber representative office’s participation in the exhibition was hugely successful as this allowed the Chamber to reinforce its presence in the CIS market while enabling regional businesses to check out the benefits of setting up businesses in Dubai and to explore joint investment ventures with the emirate’s business community.
