An attempt to smuggle diesel from Shuaiba Port to the UAE was foiled Monday, Kuwait General Administration of Customs announced.
Head of the Customs Adiminstration Khaled Al-Saif told KUNA that a certain company tried to smuggle 288 barrels of diesel which were found mixed with other permissible oils inside 20 containers.
The load was intended to be shipped to Jebel Ali Port in the UAE, he said.
Al-Saif lauded the customs staff for their alertness and noted that legal measures are being taken against the company.
