A report released by the Cabinet's Information and Decision Support Center has shown an increase in railway revenues in May by 40.8 million pounds reaching EGP 148.8 million compared with EGP 108 million during the same period in 2015.
The number of passengers rose in May by three million to hit 20.6 million against 17.6 million the same month last year, according to a monthly bulletin by the agency.
The quantity transported through trains increased in May to hit 442,500 tons against 421,500 tons during the same period last year, according to the report.
