Dubai Executive Council’s Infrastructure and Environment Committee held its ordinary meeting at the headquarters of the council at the Emirates Towers on Tuesday. It was presided over by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s Managing Director and CEO, in the presence of Abdulla Al Shaibani, Secretary General of the Dubai Executive Council (DEC). The meeting discussed the Business Bay Project as per the recommendations issued by the Infrastructure and Environment Committee earlier this year. According to the report, the taskforce would comprise Dubai Municipality, Department of Finance, Lands and Properties Department, Dubai Properties Group, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, RTA, DEC Secretariat General, Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Authority, Meydan City Corporation and Emirates Central Cooling Systems corporation. The aim is to make Business Bay a multi-purpose realty development project. Business Bay lies in the heart of Dubai, parallel to Burj Khalifa, and forms the epicentre of the new business district. It will be constructed in phases and spread over an area of 43,074,073 square feet to serve a population of 200,000.
