The Minister of Finance and National Economy Badr-Eddin Mahmoud Abbas has underlined the need to develop the control and audit systems, to abide by the accounting standards and cope with the modern electronic technology.
This came when he addressed at the Martyr Al-Zubair Hall Wednesday the Third General Conference of the Union of the Sudanese Accountants and Auditors.
He added that the conference held in a critical time in the progress of the Sudan economy as the Union of Sudanese Accountants and Auditors has been playing a leading role in the promotion of accounting profession.
The Chairman of the Council for Regulation of Accounting and Audit Profession Dr. Musaab Barakt, for his part, asserted that the accounting systems in Sudan were the oldest ones, revealing that 11% of the graduates of the Sudanese universities are from accounting specialization. He urged the concerned parties to give concern to the profession of accounting and audit which is considered as the second arm for the state through availability of training opportunities .
