The Arab Contractors Company is carrying out two road projects in Ethiopia worth $111 million, the CEO of the company said Saturday.
Mohsen Salah el Din said the two projects were part of the international Nairobi-Addis Ababa road, which represented a part of a larger ambitious project to establish an international road linking Cairo to Cape Town in South Africa.
Salah el Din added that his company conducted works in Ethiopia worth $30 million, and the Ethiopian workforce represented 90 percent of the two projects.
He said that the company is studying a project for establishing low-income residential units in Addis Ababa, adding that the company was ready to take part in carrying out developmental projects introduced by the Ethiopian government in the future.
Five engineers from the Ethiopian road agency will have training at the Arab Contractors Institute, according to directives by Egypt's Housing Minister Mustafa Madbouli, Salah el Din said.
