State will continue its efforts for the development of agriculture, particularly the small family farms, which contribute to the improvement of food security, said Thursday several members of the Government.
The State has taken all the necessary measures "to allow rural families to exercise their agricultural activities in best conditions," said Thursday Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Abdelouahab Nouri at the ceremony marking the World Food Day in presence of several members of the Government, representatives of international institutions and the diplomatic corps accredited to Algeria.
In this regard, he recalled the programme developed by his sector as part of the agricultural and rural revival policy for the achievement of 10,000 integrated rural development in 8,700 rural localities for the benefit of 1.2 million rural households comprising 7 million persons.
He also highlighted the State's efforts for the construction of housing and rural roads, as well as the mobilization of water resources in order to help farmers better exploit their lands and have access to markets.
Nouri underlined that all these actions, which have helped to strengthen the role of family farming, food security of households and stabilize rural populations, will be carried on over the next years in order to improve agricultural productivity.
