Director General of Ajman Free Zone of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Mahmoud Khalil al Hashimi said on Thursday that his participation at the Egypt Economic Development Conference (EEDC) aims at expanding bilateral investments.
The focus will mainly be on the investment opportunities at the new Suez Canal, he said, noting that the three-day conference will be a favorable time to meet with Egyptian officials and businessmen.
Hashimi said the EEDC will be a large gathering of economists and representatives of international organizations and companies, expecting that the primary outcomes of the conference would be achieved within a year.
About 14 international and regional organizations have confirmed their participation in the conference, including the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the European Investment Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the Arab League.
