The Executive Committee at the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi, headed by Jassem Bu Ataba Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Executive Committee, has approved several development projects valued at AED204 million and made a number of decisions on key issues and projects.
The committee approved development works for the Saadiyat Power Station with an overall value of AED47.5 million. The project seeks to provide power as required on the islands of Abu Dhabi, Saadiyat and Reem.
The Executive Committee also approved the project to link overhead lines (Al Shamkha - linking point in Al Faya) to the South Al Shamkha Power Station for an estimated value of AED39.5 million, a project to install electric cables and equipment in Al Ain for an estimated cost of AED22.5 million to increase the grid’s efficiency and meet the growing urban, residential and commercial demands in the region, and approved the award of a rain water drainage project in Al Zayed City in Al Dhafra at a cost of AED30.8 million.
In addition, it approved the award of an operation, development and maintenance project for public parks and agricultural landscape beautification in the agricultural region of Zakher in Al Ain to reinforce the sustainability of green spaces in the city and improve the city’s urban landscape. It also approved an operation and maintenance project for agricultural landscape beautification and local irrigation networks in Khalifa City, Shakbout city and Mohamed bin Zayed City.
Also approved was a project to build internal roads in the industrial zone of Mahdar Al Jifn in Liwa, Al Dhafra. The project aims to build internal roads over 10 km, and includes traffic signings and road signs in the industrial zone in line with industrial uses.
The committee reviewed a number of topics and memoranda submitted by government entities in Abu Dhabi concerning plans, projects and service developments listed on the committee’s agenda, making the necessary decisions in their regard.
