The two-year state budget (2015-2016) took centre stage today in a key meeting which brought together the executive and legislative branches of government.
Shura Council President Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh co-chaired the coordination session with Deputy Premier Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa, Head of the Ministerial Committee for Financial Affairs and Budgeting.
The consultative meeting is in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa and the Government's commitment to the principle of joint consultation with the legislative branch.
The two sides discussed the general guidelines which will serve as the basis for the upcoming two-year blueprint as part of efforts to draw up a realistic budget which will heed citizens' needs, win wide consensus and take into account the regional economic and financial situation resulting from fluctuating oil prices.
