Within the pages of Jay Sabo’s new book, Pier 12, ($16.99, paperback, 9781629527758; $8.99, e-book, 9781629527765) readers will discover an urban, allegorical, redemption story with contemporary societal overtones. The central theme is persistence, particularly amidst horror. The main character, Manny Salvator, never gives up trying to fulfill his mission—no matter the cost. This book is a picture of the biblical Savior, Jesus Christ, written in modern-day terms that are easy to visualize, and understand.
“It's difficult to reach secular society with Jesus from a conservative, ultra right-wing perspective,” states the author. “I want to reach those who don’t know Jesus, on their level, and entice them with ideals and themes that they are familiar with, and are constantly being bombarded with in their lives. Maybe, then, they'll be curious enough to seek Him further.”
Jay Sabo proudly introduces his first novel, Pier 12. He has published poetry, and has written short stories and eight feature length screenplays. He has a Master’s degree in sports management from East Stroudsburg University, and is currently a supervisor at a Christian Academy in Pennsylvania, where he also coaches the boys’ basketball team. He is an avid football fan, particularly the Pittsburgh Steelers. He currently resides in Pennsylvania with his wife and daughter.
