A NASA scientist named Mark is sent to investigate the scene of aircraft accidents in the Hoedspruit area of South Africa including the fatal crash of former Mozambican president Samora Marcel. As he plunges further into the investigation, he meets a New York Times journalist named Shelley, whose cameraman, John, deserts her to regain his former tribal status with the Timbavati people.
