The Emirate of Sharjah broke a record in the Guinness Book of World Records by pouring the largest quantity of concrete in the world at a commercial centre, reaching 20,246 cubic metres, poured within 62 hours.
The previous record was registered last year at the quantity of 19,793 cubic metres.
This was announced by Thabit Salem Al Tarifi, Director-General of Sharjah Municipality during the ceremony of receiving the Guinness Book Certificate held by the municipality in its main building in Al Musalla area, in the presence of Khalifa bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Assistant General Manager for the Engineering and Building Sector.
In his speech, Al-Tarifi presented this achievement to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, who, with his wise vision and guidance, has placed Sharjah among the ranks of international cities.
After receiving the certificate, Al-Tarifi honoured the team and their achievement.
