A book addressing Qatar's political predicament and its tampering with Gulf security has been published by Al-Mezmaah Studies & Research Center.
The book comes as part of a series of publications and research papers issued by the Abu Dhabi-based think-tank's researchers on an array of topics of central importance to the Arab world.
It starts with a foreword by Dr. Salim Hameed, the Centre Director General, where he prepares the readership in an elaborate inviting manner and a sound chronological order for understanding the key forms of the Qatari political dilemma and the root causes which have triggered the current fallout.
Titled "Confronting Qatar with its reality and the end of an epoch of tampering with the Gulf security," the foreword indicates that the Qatari foreign policy is based on an opportunistic approach lacking in any legitimate foundation of trust, only seeking to lead dissipated ways away from its neighbours by betting on supporting Muslim Brotherhood machinations, a fact which, the writer said, vindicates any Qatari pretexts for independent policies. The writer notes that Doha has been seeking over the years to achieve goals that fly in the face of all international laws and conventions, and turned to be an infamous incubator for terror groups.
The book in its first section presents a number of studies on the Qatari politics, featuring a series of reports detailing the Gulf and Arab boycott of Qatar and the logic behind it. In its second section, the book features seven studies by a number of notable thought leaders on the current Gulf crisis and the nature of the Qatari approach thereto.
