His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on Thursday launched the second annual Sharjah Light Festival in Al Qasba. Held at 12 locations across the emirate for nine days — running unitil next Friday — the festival will once again see international artists and European experts create the magic of lights and colours, while celebrating the cultural and architectural landmarks of Sharjah. Hosted by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, the Light Festival brings together some of the best European artists and technical experts who combine the ancient art of storytelling with the modern technology of lighting and sound to enthral audiences. All shows are free at the 12 locations across Sharjah. Shows will be held from 7pm to midnight. The festival is the first of its kind in the Middle East. The festival will once again turn the spotlight on Sharjah\'s celebrated landmarks, tourist attractions and Arab and Islamic heritage, as well as entertain both young and old UAE residents and international visitors.
