More than 80 artists, 51 of them represent 34 countries are expected to participate in the 7th International festival of miniature and illumination, planned from 13 - 20 October in Tlemcen (540 west of Algiers), the event commissioner said Sunday.
This edition will see the participation of four new countries, namely China, Mexico, Philippines and Bangladesh, commissioner Kechkach Moussa told a news briefing. He said that countries from all the continents will partake in the festival.
This festival’s notoriety has grown year after year, recording the participation of the world's best artists in the fields of miniature and illumination.
Indeed, since its institutionalization, it witnesses a growing number of participating artists and countries. The previous edition had attracted 28 countries and the coming one will attract 34 countries and more than 200 paintings, the same official said.
The jury will decide between the participants is composed of international experts and chaired by Djehiche Mohamed, director of Modern Art Museum of Algiers, the festival commissioner said.
