The 2nd Arab-Indian cultural festival wrapped up Thursday in Algiers with a lively concert by the National Symphony Orchestra (OSN), which established beautiful bridges between cultures through parts of the universal classical music and the Algerian heritage under the direction of maestro Amine Kouider.
In a beautiful fusion of genres, the NSO, has delighted the many viewers of the Moufdi Zakaria Palace of Culture, performing in academic rigor the 5th symphony of Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840-1893), followed by music composed by French Maurice Jarre, for the film "Arrisala" (The message, directed in 1977 by Mustapha El Akad).
The parts, "Symphonic Poem, Ballad for violin" written and arranged by Algerian Sid Ahmed Belli, "Aâleïki mini salem" arranged by Rabah Kadem,
"Kalbi ya bladi" of Mustapha Sahnoun and "Ya Rayeh" of late Dahmane El Harrachi were sung to the delight of the audience.
"Carmina Burana" by Carl Orff ended the evening in a solemn performance full determination.
The 2nd Arab Indian Cultural Festival, hosted by Algeria from November 20 to 27, saw the participation of eight countries in addition, namely Palestine, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco and Sudan.
