The final ceremony of the third edition of Khalid bin Hamad Theatres Festival For National Clubs, Youth Centres and People With Disability was held at Muharraq Model Youth Centre in Busaiteen.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Honorary President of Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities, patronized the closing ceremony.
Shaikh Khalid was received by Hisham bin Mohammed Al-Jowder, Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs, Dr. Ibrahim bin Mohammed Janahi, CEO of Tamkeen and other officials.
He toured the art gallery organised on the side-lines of the festival with the participation of 30 local artists and crafters.
He affirmed that the third edition of the festival, which attracted 32 teams of local clubs and youth centres, presented a commendable number of Bahraini talents in the field of theatres.
He said that the prizes of the festival was founded to support Bahraini talents in the fields of arts and culture. He congratulated the participating teams that consisted of 750 Bahraini talents of both genders and people with disabilities.
HH appreciated the efforts and key role of the sponsors, partners and members of the organising committee in making the festival a success and a popular annual event among the Bahraini youth and arts enthusiasts in general.
He asserted that the support to the local art and cultural movement will not stop here and that no efforts will be spared to empower this important sector.
It’s worth mentioning that Khalid bin Hamad Theatres Festival for National Clubs, Youth Centres and People with Disability is annually organized under the patronage of HH and was held on the stage of Muharraq Model Youth Centre in Busaiteen this year. It was launched on October 14 and concluded on Saturday.
The festival is organised for the third consecutive year by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa. It is annually held as part of Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa Initiatives to support the youth of the Kingdom of Bahrain and engage them with different events and activities.
This year’s edition is themed #Let’s_Plant_A_Smile and aims at empowering the youth in the fields of arts, cultural and humanitarian works.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa honoured the winners in the festival including best actor Khalid Rashdan, best actress Iman Sabt, best music composer Mohammed Al-Saadoon, best decoration Isa Sandid, best scriptwriter Abdulla Al-Dirzi, best lead role actor Ibrahim Al-Birawi and Omar Al-Saeedy, best lead role actress Fawz Al-Sharqawi, best director Isa Sindid, best lighting Jaffar Ghuloom, best makeup artist Siddiqa Al-Ansari and best accessories and fashion to Zallaq Youth Centre.
The jury awarded the best harmonised team Zallaq Youth Centre, best second director Abdulla Al-Dirzi, challenge award to Waleed Hassan and promising scriptwriter to Ohood Sabt.
The ceremony also witnessed the announcement of two scholarships offered by Gulf University to Turki Al-Thawadi of Hamad Town Youth Centre and Abdulrahman Al-Attawi of Galali Cultural and Sports Club.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa also honoured the partners and sponsors of the festival, the strategic partner Tamkeen, telecommunications partner Batelco, golden sponsor Economic Development Board, beverages partner Coca Cola, silver sponsors Bapco and Al-Hawaj and bronze sponsors Alba, Wahooo, Yusuf bin Ahmed Kanoo Group, Palace Projects, Majestic Cars Showroom, Gulf University and Adhari Park and hospitality partner Tariq Pastries, in addition to the media partners the Information Affairs Ministry, Al-Ayam Newspaper, Akhbar Al-Khaleej Newspaper, Al-Bilad Newspaper, GDN Newspaper, Daily Tribune Newspaper, Office of Promotion, Investment and Technology of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation, be prepared and Galali Club.
