The International Timgad Festival kicked off Saturday evening under the sign of solidarity with the population of Gaza, in the presence of Culture Minister Nadia Labidi and National Solidarity, Family and Women’s Affairs Minister Mounia Meslem.
In her speech at the official opening of the festival, Culture Minister said that the 36th edition of the International Festival of Timgad is particular as it is organized in solidarity with Gaza, adding that Algeria, its government and people are for the victory of the Palestinian cause.
A minute’s silence was observed by the audience in the memory of the martyrs of Gaza.
The opening evening of the festival, whose incomes will be given to the Palestinian people, was livened up by Refaa group of N’gaous, followed by singer Kader Japoni and Nidai Baroud.
