The first-ever ASEAN film festival on Monday kicked off at the Nay Pyi Taw Cinema in Yangon, according to film circle. Organized by Myanmar Motion Picture Enterprise under the Ministry of Information, films from 10 member countries of the Association for Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) including three Myanmar films -- Kayan Beauty, Kyodan (The String) and Pan Kyar Wuthome (Pollens of a Flower) will feature at the festival. Four films a day will be screened during the five-day festival which will run until Friday. Meanwhile, a Thai film festival along with Thailand's most famous film stars will be held at People's Square here for the first time from March 28 to 30.
