Global winner is to be announced in May London - Arabstoday Toyota GB’s Surrey headquarters became an art gallery of the future late last week, displaying the winners and hosting the ceremony for the UK awards of the Toyota Dream Car art competition. The event is an annual, global competition run by Toyota Motor Corporation with more than 70 countries taking part. It is the third time the event has been held in the UK and Toyota GB received over 600 entrants. The ceremony was hosted by Jon Williams, President and Managing Director. He presented awards along with Masa Nohara, the Executive Director and Co-ordinator Executive Director and Co-ordinator of Toyota GB. Williams said: "The goal of the Dream Car art competition is to create opportunities for children to have fun drawing their ‘dream car of the future’. The importance of dreams and inspiring the young people of tomorrow is something that is very important to Toyota.” The judging panel consisted of Masa Nohara and representatives from the Toyota marketing team and external marketing agency. The judges were very impressed with the high levels of creativity and originality seen from everyone who entered. There were a wide range of ideas, from flying cars to cupcakes; cars with fishtanks, sweet shops and swimming pools, and cars that were powered by rain water and recycled materials. All of the UK finalists are now entered into the worldwide contest from each age category and have a chance to win a trip to Japan to participate in the global final. The lucky winners will find out whether they have been successful in May.
