The new Graphite and Landmark editions of Land Rover's seven-seat SUV aim to add extra on-road personality to its already formidable off-road performance.
The new Landmark model takes the existing top specification HSE as a starting point and adds an exclusive Zanzibar external paint finish contrasted by black vents, grilles and body trim and a set of 20-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, there's a sea of leather, Windsor Leather to be precise, that adorns all seven seats. Matching or contrasting leather also envelops the dashboard and door cards for good measure.
To ensure that all colors, tones and palettes blend perfectly, only Ebony, Almond and Tan are available, the latter for the first time on any Discovery model. The finishing touch is walnut veneer and a choice of customized steering wheels.
Under the hood is a supercharged V6 petrol engine that can deliver up to 340PS and a very useful 450Nm of torque. Prices start at €64,950.
For the Graphite model, the idea is to highlight the car's rugged capabilities and stance. The vents and grille get a graphite makeover and the door handles, badges and front grille's framework are finished in a complementary grey tone. The vehicle sits on smaller, 19-inch alloys also finished in gloss grey and exclusive to the model.
Both models offer all-wheel drive and a cutting-edge terrain response and hill-descent control system for coping with off-road adventures. Drivers can also specify the car with a twin-speed transfer box for a set of low-ratio gears for those owners who are serious about heading off the beaten path.
The Graphite is powered by a choice of two six-cylinder turbodiesel engines offering either 211PS or 256PS and prices start at €57,000.
The models are available for order at the end of October; the first deliveries are expected in January 2016.
