The brainchild of Giuseppe Ferrazzano, CEO of the electric vehicle maker Tecnicar, the Lavinia S.E. project is taking shape in Italy. Though only in the development stage, the future supercar is very promising indeed on paper.
According to the plans, the supercar will be powered by an 800hp electric motor for a top speed of 300km/h and 0 to 100km/h acceleration in less than four seconds. Dreamt up by Giuseppe Ferrazzano, the vehicle is named for his wife, Lavinia.
For the time being, the Lavinia S.E. exists only as a 3D model made by 3D designer and developer Angelo Granata from Giuseppe Ferrazzano's original drawings. Each step of the supercar's construction will be reported on Tecnicar's Facebook page.
In 2012, Tecnicar presented its first electric car, a much more modest city car dubbed Genius. The company's primary business is producing electric mobility scooters and tourist trains.
While there are hybrid sports cars delivering more power (such as the LaFerrari, the McLaren P1 and the Porsche 918 Spyder), the Lavinia project is the first to imagine an all-electric supercar.
So far only the American manufacturer Tesla has come close with its all-electric sports car, the new Model S. Depending on the version, the latest Model S delivers up to 416hp and accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in just over four seconds, all with zero CO2 emissions.
