To mark the occasion, the library, which is a major source of information for those who want to have in-depth knowledge of Arabic poetry, organized a small fair displaying books bearing on the Arabic language, it said in a statement.
It also produced a documentary focusing on the Arabic language, its grammar rules and its diverse vital aspects, and posted it on the library's website and Facebook.
Furthermore, it posted an online list of all books specializing in the Arabic language and its sciences, giving researchers and students easy access to its publications, according to the statement.
World Arabic Language Day (WALD), also known as the UN Arabic Language Day is observed annually on December 18.
First established by the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 2010, the day celebrates the Arabic language and promotes cultural diversity.
