Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has called on independent nations to stand up against hegemonic and expansionist powers through solidarity and unity. “Today, arrogant powers and the enemies of mankind have put pressure on independent nations and governments, including Iran and Sudan,” President Ahmadinejad said in a meeting with Sudanese presidential advisor Mustafa Osman Ismail on Tuesday. “It is upon all independent nations and governments to stand up against expansionists through solidarity, brotherhood and supporting one another,” he added. He said that global hegemon’s pressure could not last forever as independent nations will eventually come out victorious through patience, resistance and reliance on God. President Ahmadinejad said that Iran will stand by the Sudanese people and will support measures aimed at developing ties between the two countries. The Sudanese official, for his part, called for the further expansion of ties with Iran in different sectors and said Sudan was willing to use Iran’s experience. He also submitted Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir’s message to the Iranian chief executive.
