The Supreme Leader made the remarks in a meeting with members of parliament, that the enemies have targeted Iranian economy and are makng every endeavor to weaken the economy, stir up disputes among the country’s officials and also have targeted the Islamic faith and religious sentiments, but to no avail. The Leader assigned the Majlis and the government to uphold rule of law in dealing with a variety of social and economic issues. Praising the sincere and decisive stand of Majlis vis-a-vis the international despotism, the Supreme Leader said \'the global arrogance has done what it could to create obstacles in the way of progress of Iranian nation. In return, the Iranian people have increased their insight. The Supreme Leader highlighted unanimity of Majlis and government to drive the enemies to despair and said that the campaign against the global arrogance will continue until they lose their hope. Elaborating on designation of the new Iranian year \'the Year of Economic Jihad\', the Supreme Leader said that the parliament and government are expected to mobilize national resources to bring desperation to the enemies. The Supreme Leader advised all the people to exercise vigilance to unravel the hostile schemes to strike blow to Iran. Referring to the sedition erupted after presidential elections, the Supreme Leader said their sin was that they created a challenge for Islamic revolution and spared no efforts to make good on it. Political wings in Majlis should act based on their duties and commitments to stand against the enemy, said Ayatollah Khamenei. Elsewhere in his address, the Supreme Leader said that the enemies try to weaken Islamic faith and religious sentiments by promoting dubious thoughts to attain their sinister goal. The Supreme Leader drew attention of the MPs to the propaganda machine of the western governments to mislead youths in Egypt and Tunisia along with other Islamic states in the region and said that promoting of corruption and creation of doubt in the minds of Muslims are among the goals set by the enemies in dealing with Islamic awakening in the Arab World. To thwart plots hatched by the enemies, Muslims should avoid negligence and arrogance, underlined the Supreme Leader. The Supreme Leader made it clear that ignoring the enemies will be very costly. \'Differences of ideas is a natural phenomenon but all should be vigilant not to create problems or challenges as their enemies -- the US, Zionist regime and enemies of Islam -- are seeking a chance to deal a blow to Islamic Revolution,\' the Supreme Leader said. The Supreme Leader said that the parliament is expected to pass legislation in a way facilitating its implementation for the government, at the same time, as soon as a bill is passed by the parliament, the government should do its best to implement it without bringing any excuses. The Supreme Leader said that despite of various problems and scenarios, preparations for elections have been conducted without delay which indicate the importance of democratic election in the Islamic system. \'Nobody should interfere in the country’s election process and all should observe rule of law to this end.\'
