A delegation from the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) is participating in the Seoul International Book Fair, taking place at COEX in Seoul from the 19th to the 23rd of June which was inaugurated by Park Geun-hye, President of South Korea. Headed by Ahmed Al Ameri, SIBF Director, and including Salim Omar Salim, Head of Sales and Marketing at SIBF, the delegation is making use of the opportunity to promote SIBF in the international arena and to invite publishers from the region to take part in the upcoming 32nd Sharjah International Book Fair, taking place from the 6th to the 16th of November 2013 at the Expo Centre, Sharjah. Speaking about their participation, Ahmed Al Ameri said, \"SIBF is always eager to take part in premier international book events, such as the Seoul International Book Fair, in line with the vision and directives of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, as they provide an excellent platform on which to promote the diverse and wide ranging offerings of the Sharjah International Book Fair. We are especially pleased to be participating in Seoul and we are looking forward to forging many new mutually beneficial relationships with various stakeholders in the region\'s book industry.\" The SIBF stand received a number of senior officials and diplomats, including Abdullah Al Marzouqi, Second Secretary at the UAE Embassy in South Korea and Mr. Abdullah Al Shamsi, where they praised the efforts of the Sharjah International Book Fair in supporting and promoting Emirati culture and enriching national culture through SIBF editions, the much-awaited cultural extravaganza by intellectuals from around the world, in addition to supporting the book and publishing industry and enriching the expertise of professionals in this vital sector through various programmes. SIBF\'s exhibit, which has already attracted widespread attention and praise from visitors and participants to the Book Fair, is displaying and promoting a range of Sharjah based publications, including publications by H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the \"Culture Without Borders\" project, and various titles from the award winning Sharjah-based Arabic children\'s publisher, Kalimat. The Seoul International Book Fair is organised annually by the Korean Publishers Association in order to promote Korean publications abroad, strengthen the competitiveness of the publishing industry, promote reading among the public, and allow the public to enjoy diverse cultures through literature.
