A one-week festival titled ‘Young Scouts Open Festival’ opened at Al-Rashid Mall in Jazan on Saturday. The event, organized by the General Presidency for Youth Welfare’s (GPYW) regional office, was launched by Undersecretary of Jazan Province Governor’s Office Dr. Abdullah Bin Muhammad Al-Suwayed, who later toured the festival’s venue. An exhibition also part of the festival comprised a gallery of photographs depicting community service and scout programs as well as books and leaflets. “The festival will include ceremonies, exhibition of pioneer scout works, a blood donation campaign, lectures, training courses as well as activities for kids, including a painting event,” said director of GPYW’s office and festival supervisor Hamid bin Eid Al-Surai. Al-Surai said 50 scouts will be participating in the festival. Undersecretary Al-Suwayed honored those who took part in the organization at the end of the launch ceremony. Arabnews
